hour's drive from Athens and is close to Marathon and Agii
Apostoli's pebble beach. Located close to the Theatre of
Dionysas is Panagia Hrysospiliotissa (Chapel of our Lady of the
Cavern). This small and interesting temple hidden in the side of a
cliff. With a rocky path leading to the Chapel of our Lady of the
Cavern decorated with ancient pictures on the walls.
Less than one hour from the city of Athens,
is the Attica Peninsula offering its visitors many attractions.

coastal pine forests, this stunning Greek beach offers great

Things to do in Athens Greece
Near Athens is The Anafiotika
district is one
of the most beautiful parts of the city. With many small, white
houses and a maze of winding streets and pathways. Offering several
renovated neo-classical houses and buildings, the church of Agios
Georgios (St George of the Rock), this church was built in the 17th
century, along with a museum housed in the old university of Athens.
Close to the town of Peania, 2.5 miles outside Athens is Koutouki
Cave. One of the most beautiful caves in Europe, with huge
stalactites hanging from the ceiling. These breathtaking caves were
discovered accidently years ago, when a shepherd's goat fell through
a hole in the cave's roof. Visitor's can enjoy a guided tour which
departs every 30 minutes, daily.
