
Natural Wonders of Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City hosted the Winter Games in
2002 now visitors can see the Olympic Cauldron located in The
Olympic Cauldron Park which is a plaza located at the south end
of Rice-Eccles Stadium on the campus of the University of
Utah. Rice-Eccles Stadium was the location of the Opening and
Closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The
cauldron is still operational and is lit on special occasions,
including the opening weekend of the 2006 Winter Olympics.
Visitors can also see the Hoberman Arch which was the
centerpiece of the Olympic Medals Plaza during the 2002 Winter
Olympics. It was used as the curtain for the stage and opening
like the iris of our eye to create a duplicate cauldron in the
floor behind the medals platform. Currently the Hoberman Arch is
mounted in place and does not open or close, at night it is
illuminated with colored lights. Also located inside the Olympic
Cauldron Park is the visitor's
center.
The Olympic Legacy Plaza is located in the Gateway District,
featuring a dancing water fountain set to music and the names of
300,000 Olympic Volunteers carved in stone. Another exciting
place to experience more Olympic history is at The Utah Olympic
Park, located near Park City Utah. Featuring the Olympic ski
jumps, bobsleigh, luge and the skeleton runs. Today the Olympic
Park is used for year-round training and competitions. Visitors
to the park can enjoy watching various events and even ride a
bobsled. Visitors may also enjoy visiting the Utah Olympic Oval
located near Kearns was home to the speed skating events and is
now open to the public.
Salt Lake City is located close to several world-class ski
resorts and summer resorts such as Park City Mountain Resort,
Deer Valley, and Snowbird. These resorts cater to millions of
visitors each year and offer year-round activities for the whole
family.
Salt Lake is home to the headquarters of the of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (which is known today as The
Mormon Church). A popular place to visit is Temple Square where

home to the historic Tabernacle also know as the home of
the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Located to the west of
Temple Square is The Family History Library, the largest

Places to See in Salt Lake City Utah
During the summer months a visit to Lagoon
Amusement Park is a great way to cool off and enjoy thrilling rides.
This exciting amusement park offers several great rides, live

The year round ski resort of Snowbird offers several summer
